About Fatima Ebrahim
I can neither read nor write 1,000 words, so I take photos.
I can't draw. I can't paint. Some say I can barely write (nothing wrong with dentist's chicken scratch!). But God gave me two eyes and with them I can see and appreciate the world around me. Photography is the only form of art and expression that I know. Through my photography, I strive - sometimes struggle - to capture the world as I see it through my eyes.
It all started as early as anyone can remember me walking. I followed my dad everywhere and led a life of leisure endlessly amused by the buttons on his camera. My dad's family owned a fancy camera store so photography naturally became his hobby, and then he had a daughter who was born irresistibly attracted to all things gizmos and gadgets. Anything electronic with buttons and dials really - the more complex, the more to tinker with, the more fun. Like father, like daughter: the cameras dazzled me the most as did the snap of the shutter!
Not much has changed since then.
I'm a bit of a geek, and photography is my medium.
